Waterfall City the rebrand

The multi-use development known as Waterfall has been rebranded as Waterfall City - a move designed to emphasise the true purpose of the development: a world-class Smart City with much to offer.

Formally announced at the start of October, the rebrand has positioned the 2,200-hectare precinct as a mindful partner in Gauteng's residential and commercial ecosystem, with the purpose of helping its residents and clients integrate every aspect of their lives into one safe, secure, and connected urban community. Waterfall Management Company CEO, Willie Vos, explained the rebrand as a need to consolidate the branding of the sprawling developments under a cohesive and trademarked banner, and also to acknowledge how far the mixed-use development has come. 

With numerous residential developments of different sizes suiting various needs, shopping centres, schools, hospitals, hotels and a wide array of business and logistic parks, Waterfall City is just that - a city that is world-class, offering an attractive lifestyle. And they're award-winning too...

Waterfall City has won Best Mixed-use Development in Africa for seven consecutive years and Best International Mixed-use Development for four years running, from 2017 to 2020. At a recent International Property Awards ceremony held in Dubai, Waterfall Management Company was once again honoured with the Best Mixed-use Development in South Africa award for Waterfall, for the eighth time in nine years. In addition to this amazing achievement, Waterfall City gained two more Best in SA 2022-2023 accolades: LYT Architecture - Best Leisure Interior for the Highline Courtyard Hotel Rooftop Bar and Restaurant, and Balwin Properties - Best Leisure Architecture for the Munyaka Lifestyle Estate.

Waterfall City has undoubtedly become the new economic hub in Gauteng, with many international and local blue-chip companies setting up their headquarters here. Its convenient location has much to do with this, ideally situated between Sandton and Pretoria, with close proximity to highways and public transport. An additional Gautrain station is planned for Waterfall City, between the Midrand and Marlboro stations. 

The commerce boom in the area is attributed to Waterfall City's future-proofed infrastructure, fibre optic and wireless communication network. Waterfall City developer, Attacq CEO Jackie van Niekerk said that the rebranding represents a major milestone for their company. "Waterfall City's award-winning hub of collaboration, innovation, sustainability and best-in-class infrastructure, with access to great amenities, forms a central part of Attacq's growth strategy and has rapidly developed into a true lifestyle and blue-chip business destination between the metropolises of Johannesburg and Pretoria."

The new Waterfall City brand is based on four cornerstones: connection, commerce, care, and community - each seeking to embody the identity of the lively and interconnected community it houses.
